Gooseneck Trailers for Sale
Appalachian Trailers builds a complete line of gooseneck trailers for a range of uses. These trailers are offered in GVWRs from 10,000 to 25,000 lbs. We use channel iron and I-beam mainframes (depending on model) to build a trailer that will give you a long service life.
Flatbed Gooseneck Trailers
Our flatbed gooseneck trailers, commonly known as “deckover” trailers, are designed with the floor positioned over the tires, maximizing the width of the trailer for larger loads. This configuration allows for a more spacious, unobstructed platform, making it ideal for transporting oversized equipment, building materials, and heavy machinery.
Equipment Gooseneck Trailers
Our equipment gooseneck trailers are specifically designed for hauling heavy machinerybut offer a low deck height, achieving a better loading angle and low center of gravity when towing. Built for strength and durability, these goosenecks feature reinforced frames and enhanced load capacities to safely transport construction equipment, agricultural machinery, and other large, heavy-duty items.
With a lower deck height, equipment gooseneck trailers offer better stability and easier loading and unloading of your equipment.
Standard Duty Gooseneck Trailers
Our cost-effective standard-duty gooseneck trailers are great for those who need reliable performance without the heavy-duty features of a contractor-grade trailer. Designed with channel iron mainframes, these trailers provide strength and durability while maintaining a lighter overall weight, making them easy to tow and maneuver.
A Range of Gooseneck Trailer Ratings
We offer standard duty gooseneck trailers in two GVWR options: 10,000 and 12,000 lbs.
These trailers are well-suited for transporting lighter loads such as small to medium-sized equipment, building materials, and general cargo. Choosing between these weight ratings allows you to select the trailer that best fits your hauling needs.
Lightweight Gooseneck Trailer Frame Design
One of the key features of our standard-duty models is their lighter frame construction. The crossmembers are spaced farther apart than heavier-duty models, making the trailer more manageable without sacrificing structural integrity. This design reduces overall weight, improving fuel efficiency and making it an ideal option for those not requiring a heavy-duty trailer.
Contractor Grade Gooseneck Trailers
All of our contractor-grade gooseneck trailers include the best features of our standard gooseneck trailers in addition to having 16″ crossmember spacing, an adjustable gooseneck coupler, and a 12,000 lb. drop foot jack (or jacks), a toolbox with lockable lid, and rub rails on the stake pockets.
The lighting package is a US-made sealed modular wiring harness with lifetime LED lights and full reflective tape.
Appalachian Trailer’s rugged gooseneck trailers are available at both our Ohio and Pennsylvania locations and are built to last and give you years of service.

Gooseneck Trailer GVWRs: Understanding Weight Ratings
When selecting a gooseneck trailer, one of the most important factors to consider is the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). This rating represents the maximum allowable weight of the trailer and its cargo combined, ensuring safe and efficient hauling. Whether you’re transporting heavy machinery, equipment, or general cargo, choosing the correct GVWR ensures your trailer can handle the load without compromising safety or performance.
Common Gooseneck Trailer GVWRs
Gooseneck trailers come in a variety of GVWR options to meet different hauling needs:
- 10,000 lbs GVWR: Ideal for lighter loads such as small to medium-sized equipment, personal vehicles, or general farm use. This option is perfect for everyday tasks where high capacity isn’t required.
- 12,000 lbs GVWR: Offers more capacity for slightly heavier loads while maintaining maneuverability and ease of use. It’s a popular choice for small contractors and landscapers.
- 14,000 lbs and 16,000 lbs GVWR: Suited for larger equipment, including tractors, skid steers, and other mid-size machinery. These trailers provide extra strength and durability for frequent commercial use.
- 20,000 lbs GVWR and Above: Designed for serious heavy-duty work, these trailers can handle large-scale equipment, construction vehicles, and materials. Perfect for professional contractors and businesses with significant hauling demands.
Why Gross Vehicle Weight Rating Matters
Choosing the right GVWR ensures the trailer’s structural integrity and protects your vehicle’s towing capacity. No matter your hauling needs, understanding GVWR options helps you choose the right trailer to match your workload, ensuring optimal performance and safety every time.
